A chemical engineer and Team GB runner, Sam brings high-performance discipline to Travel Fox. As COO, he manages 115+ properties across the UK with an engineer’s instinct for simplicity and a runner’s focus on progress. Sam and his lifelong friend Chris have built a business where “broken” isn’t an option and guest care is paramount. When he’s not buried in operations, Sam is out on the trails.

Chris has a PhD in mathematical modelling from Nottingham. If he can organise systems of equations for phase-shifting fluids, he can price your cottage by the lake on a Tuesday. The difference is what happens in the quiet months — our pricing keeps properties booked year-round for owners, and means guests can enjoy a midweek escape in October without paying bank holiday prices. When he’s not buried in pricing models, he’s buried in a sudoku or winning a pub quiz.

How does your pricing work?
We charge 12% (Standard) or 15% (Premium) commission per booking, calculated after cleaning costs are deducted from the booking revenue. There are no joining fees, no setup costs, and no exit fees. You only pay when you earn. See full service details →
Are there any lock-in contracts or exit fees?
No. There is no minimum contract length, no notice period, and no exit fees. You’re free to leave at any time. We believe in earning your loyalty, not enforcing it through contracts.
How do you handle cleaning and turnovers?
We source and manage the best local cleaners in your area. Every checkout triggers a morning reminder to the cleaning team. Every clean is photo-inspected before the next guest arrives. Cleaning costs are deducted before our commission is calculated, so we’re incentivised to keep costs reasonable.
What happens if a guest damages my property?
Every booking includes security deposit protection against accidental damage. We also provide guidance on specialist holiday-let insurance and can coordinate repairs through our network of trusted local tradesmen.
Can I still use my own property?
Absolutely. You have full access to the Hostaway owner portal and can block dates for personal use whenever you want. There are no restrictions, no charges for owner bookings, and no minimum letting requirement.
How quickly can you get my property listed?
Most properties are live and taking bookings within 2–3 weeks of the initial founder visit. We arrange professional photography, write compelling descriptions, set up pricing models, and create listings across all platforms.
