Loved the stay. Great location.

A cosy cottage for our stay, close drive to villages/towns in the lakes with plenty to do and great pub close by to walk to for easy dinner and a drink.

Very nice. ..
Positive: Lovely property
Negative: The location is on the main road and no pavement so can be pretty dangerous..take care with children and pets

Had I known about all the building work going on at the side of the property I would not have booked. Woken at 7.30 by work men on the building site.
Back yard furniture had no cushions and was very scruffy.

Spacious, clean and comfortable. We stayed one night in the way back from Scotland to London. Thanks for a clean and comfortable stay.

We enjoyed our stay at The Nook, lovely welcoming cottage which had more space than we needed for only two of us. Tastefully furnished and decorated, comfortable beds and a good spacious kitchen with a nice working Aga. The Pheasant Inn within walking distance serving excellent food, especially for Sunday lunch, was an added bonus. Parking was easy and always available in the lay-by at the bottom of the hill, however loading and unloading at the beginning and end of our stay was a bit tricky as it is difficult to stop right outside the house, just something for people to bear in mind. We needed to extend our stay by a few days for personal reasons and Claire was very helpful and quick to respond and accommodate our request. Would happily stay here again.

Gorgeous and homely cottage perfect for a friend's reunion. Comfortable beds and great communal space!
we loved the aga for cooking!!
Clare was so flexible and helpful in providing stuff for the babies and making our stat easier, much appreciated.
Thanks again so much for hosting x

The host was very kind and nice. The instructions provided were clear and the house aas good and neat. This property was marked as “rare find” on AirBnB as we had made last minute bookings, and indeed this was a rare find. We would have paid a lot more but also had booked two days before the travel date. We enjoyed the stay a lot.

Clean, comfortable and everything you need. We loved the wood burner and the aga. The beds were extremely comfortable which was a bonus after a week of hiking.

We had a lovely stay at The Nook, our toddler loved exploring and playing in the garden. Clare provided a travel cot and a high chair for the our baby, which made it a lot easier for us. On top of that, she was really great with communicating and very proactive. The AGA was a nice feature, fun to cook with. Two sitting rooms with a tv was a great bonus. We loved the upstairs one as it is a bit more quiet and has nice features like the connected lights and the balcony. Would highly recommend. Thank you! X

Enjoyable, restful, peaceful, & was lovely for a 3 night break.
Positive: We loved the interior of the cottage & quirky design with 2 lounges. The AGA provided a very cosy environment in the kitchen/diner. The Courtyard garden was also very pleasant in the lovely late April sunshine.
Negative: The nook was located on quite a busy road, this could prove difficult with prams, dogs, & bags. The parking was adequate but away from the Nook especially when unloading & loading.

Pleasant 2 night stay in a clean, well equipped home complete with AGA. We especially enjoyed the home’s character and comfortable second floor common area. We appreciated the proximity to Lake Windermere and the detailed guest manual which included local restaurants.

We enjoyed our stay. The heart of the show was the AGA cooker. It was located conveniently and easy to reach many places we wanted to explore in Lake District. The place was decorated well.

We had such a lovely stay here and would happily return. The place was extremely spacious, spread across 3 floors, which made it perfect for our group of 4. Having 2 en-suites as well as both a bath and a shower gave us plenty of options and made everything feel really comfortable.

The location was also fantastic, very close to some beautiful sights. Humphrey Head was only a 5-minute drive away and was a lovely place to explore. We also really enjoyed visiting Lake Buttermere and Lake Windermere, which was only around 30 minutes away, with lovely boat hire available on the lake.

The kitchen was stocked with everything we needed, and the AGA was surprisingly super easy and quick to use. The log burners were also a great touch and made the place feel extra cosy.

Clare was incredibly helpful throughout our stay, providing clear advice and even reaching out when storm alerts were issued to give us a heads-up about possible power cuts, along with helpful advice on what to do☺️

Couldn’t be happier with our experience at The Nook. Just as described with no complaints at all. Lovely place and a credit to Clare who was very prompt at answering any questions we had before and during our stay. Thank you!

Many thanks Clare for a fabulous stay. It was a lovely location for exploring the beautiful surrounding area. Ideal for our break. The cottage was clean, warm and welcoming, beautifully decorated and equipped with everything we could possibly need. Great communication with Clare start to finish. Thanks again.

A perfect base to explore the Lakes
Positive: The house was beautiful, cosy and really well equipped. Clare was super helpful and we felt very welcome.
Negative: Unfortunately, we did experience a problem with the WiFi after some wild weather.

Lovely few days at this cosy cottage. Would definitely recommend staying if looking to explore the lakes with Cartmel, Grange and Bowness within 30 mins drive away.

The host was super responsive and the place itself was ideal and comfortable for the 4 of us and our dog.

Positive: Lovely cosy cottage. I loved the log burners and the arga lovely bedrooms brilliant.
Negative: We were a bit unfortunate they had road works at the bottom of the road from 10 Clock at night one night, so it was a bit noisy and I had to move my car and park a 10 minute walk that's about my luck but obviously road works need doing.

Lovely stay, beautiful cottage
Positive: Lovely spacious and comfortable. Everything you could need.
Negative: We arrived quite late and expected maybe a little milk in the fridge but had to go back out to buy some. There’s not many shops near by so be prepared for this prior to your arrival

Fabulous Airbnb with beautiful surroundings. Host is very responsive. It was well heated when we arrived, we thoroughly enjoyed using the Aga too! Looking forward to our next stay at the Nook ☺️. A great place to stay for a group of friends or a family.

I unfortunately made a small error on booking which Clare rectified for me, place was lovely, well kitted out and had little things there to entertain also.

Had a lovely time :)

Fabulous few nights in the Nook. Beautiful cosy but spacious cottage. Very clean with everything we needed. Clare was extremely helpful and communication was great. Loved it, thanks x

Clare's home was lovely and warm and really dog friendly so long as your dog is happy to stay shut into the downstairs rooms. The amenities and rooms are good but worth noting the twin room doesnt have access to a toilet unless you go through somebody else's room or walk down two floors. The pub up the road serves excellent food but you'll be walking up a busy unlit road so beware. Cars pass by very rapidly so be very careful with dogs and they start early at 7am and all the rooms face the road so if you're a light sleeper take plugs.

I booked Clare’s place last minute for family who were visiting from Australia. I wish we could have stayed longer however the overnight stay was beyond perfect! Clare was a fabulous host who went above and beyond. We would 100% visit again! Thank you Clare. 😍

Easy, lovely, Cosy, relaxed stay close to Grange and Cartmel
Positive: Beautiful, stone cottage- cosy with x 2 living rooms. Handy for us as we had x 2 kids in tow so we could cook with the kids nearby or they could escape to their own ‘den’. The aga was a first for me, but great to have that experience!
Negative: Not much to be honest, although the property is literally on the road with no pavement and because the property next door has scaffolding up, it was a bit hairy at times with the kids. The passing cars do not take any prisoners.
5.0/5
It was a beautiful place to stay! So perfect. We loved every minute of being there. We will definitely be back. 10/10 place

Staying at the Nook was an absolute pleasure! We felt right at home. Everything was even better than described and being able to walk to a great Pub/Restaurant made the location exceptional. The beds were comfy and Clare is a kind and helpful host! Would absolutely stay there again!
4.0/5
It's a very well appointed house with 2 living rooms. It has been very well modernised. Clare sent 3 words and I would advise to use as a way to locate as wasn't that easy to find. Parking was 100 yards down the road and you can't stop outside which is a minor inconvenience.
8.0/10
It was excellent for a short stay and our needs
Positive: Clean very comfortable with all necessary appliances etc
Negative: No parking and position on main road
8.0/10
A spacious, homely and comforting experience.
Positive: Location was great for access to some shops and as a base.
Huge house size and the kitchen remained nice and warm due to the AGA Oven and it was clear how to use.
Bathrooms were well equipped and functional with Hot water when needed.
Well equipped kitchen, comfortable sofas
Fireplace with a good amount of wood for the amount of time spent.
Television and WiFi all functional and fast.
Negative: Broom and dustpan and brush would have been appreciated (or if there was one to be clear where to find)
The Kitchen had some items which perhaps were left by other guests such as empty spices, old cooking oil, frozen items in the freezer.
The Kitchen floor could have been mopped/swept and the fly catcher changed before arrival.
The master bedroom was changed and fresh, however the covers and sheets were all creased (not a complaint, just for a more complete feel for the Guest to have these ironed out)
Blanket placed on the bed had a large amount of hairs (animal hairs?)
Ground floor sofas to be checked and vacuumed as there was dirt/debris in between the cracks and sides
For other guests, a small selection of essentials can go a long way such as a bit of milk, eggs, kitchen paper towels, cling film/tin foil etc...
9.0/10
Lovely quiet cozy cottage, well appointed, great location,
Positive: Lovely cozy house.Good communication with host; kitchen great-well stocked and loved experimenting with the Aga; beds great; very clean. Well maintained (worth mentioning that the double socket in master bedroom has loose screw needing tightened). Great situation.
Negative: A short walk to the car parked in a layby. Fine for us but could be more challenging for a young family; towels a little on the small side ( we're not oversized!!)- we like the decadence of a bath sheet ( small point!) .
8.0/10
Beautiful cottage, a lovely home from home!
Positive: Lovely cottage, beautiful decor, fantastic Aga ❤️ very comfortable. Home from home!
Negative: The house is right on the main road, cars travel very fast which was a worry with children and having to walk up and down the road with no pavement with luggage, children etc.
10.0/10
Lovely cottage bigger than expected

Really enjoyed our stay.
Positive: Location was great for visiting areas in the lake district and great pub in walking distance
Negative: Parking in lay-by was awkward for unloading car and getting in and out of passenger side. Would be hard for less able people.

We had a very brief nights stay at The Nook in our way to climb Scarfel Pike. It was very comfortable and cosy, lovely to have the aga. Clare is a great host who recommended the local pub where we enjoyed a great meal.
