Great location for Alton Towers , had all you needed for a stay and a local pub for drinks and plenty of taxis into Cheadle to get food.

A bit of advice , park in the free car park and walk back towards the main road, the property is on a row of cottages, also the mobile reception in the area is not good so pop to the pub and use their WIFI as you need reception to download the key code or do it when you are fairly close and have reception

Would stay again for sure

Great location and fab hosts. Really recommend this little gem.
4.0/5
A good stay close by Alton Towers. It had everything we needed, and was a suitable stay in a sweet village. It could have been cleaner in places, the wifi wasn’t great and as the place is old the walls are thin so we could hear the neighbours.

I was also disappointed I was made to pay a £150 deposit prior to getting the details of the lockbox. This was not on the listing when I paid for it and I believe is against Airbnb guidelines.

We had a great stay. Beautiful place in a lovely little village. Theres a great little pub within a 2 min walk and Cheadle is a 10 min drive away were there are supermarkets, restaurants and pubs. It was perfectly located for Alton Towers which was a 5 min drive away. Thank you for such a great stay.

Very close to Alton towers . Nice little stay

We had a lovely stay and really enjoyed our visit. The location was perfect for exploring the area, and communication from the host was excellent from start to finish. Check-in was straightforward, and everything was made very easy for us.

The property is full of character and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. We particularly appreciated how responsive and helpful the host was throughout.

Overall, we had a great experience and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this property to others.

Would recommended and return again.

We really enjoyed our stay - lovely location and perfect for visiting the Alton Towers theme park. Thank you Travel Fox!

Lovely quaint area, no shops around so bring supplies, but great house, everything there that was needed, clean and cosy, as described.

Really nice , great stay , basically perfect however be warned there is absolutely no phone signal in the village

Make sure the non-refundable damage deposit or refundable waiver is included in your original bill when paying your balance. I saw complaints in the reviews about the host charging extra fees on the day of check in before receiving the key code, which violates platgorm rules. I questioned this to the host and they waived the fee.

Perfect location for Alton Towers and equipped with all the basic necessities.
Generally clean on the surface, but it desperately needs a deep clean in hidden areas, like under the beds and between the sofa cushions.

The shower pressure is not very powerful. It would be useful to have a high chair and some areas are not very toddler friendly.

Overall, we had a good holiday and it was a nice place to stay.

we had a 2 night stay while we took the kids to alton towers. could not fault the cottage, it was lovely and cosy and perfect for what we needed.

Pleasant house, great location for Alton Towers. Parking easy enough in nearby free car park.

Excellent base for Alton towers. Lovely little cottage. Wished stayed longer to explore area and take advantage of lovely walks on doorstep!
4.0/5
the owners were great and quick to respond. check in could be made easier by sending instructions the night before not 4 hours before as most people will be travelling, had to go to local pub to get WiFi.. all think having to get insurance and not stating that when booking before get code for keys is not a good start... which is not the owners fault but yours.. not good Travel Fox.

A beautiful, cosy, wee house in a lovely wee town.
The house was very clean and tidy, although slightly worn around the edges.
Easy enough to find, directions provided are good. It is down a narrow road, so be careful.
Beds were comfortable, kitchen adequate. The bathroom was good, but if you are over 6ft tall, the shower is a challenge.
For some unknown reason there was a single slipper lying in the garden outside, kind of ruined the beautiful garden.
Communication was too good. I did feel like I was getting constant messages at times. Reminding me that I needed to pay a deposit to get access, something I did not see on the booking, and still not sure if it is there tbh.
one thing to be wary of is the stairs to the bedrooms. Steep and slippery. If you aren't good with stairs, I'd suggest not booking here.
Overall a nice place for a few nights.

Lovely home and great weekend away! Quiet neighbourhood, just what we wanted.
4.0/5
The main issue we had was the neighbours had either a tv or radio on continuously & you could hear it through the walls. We first thought it was from 5 in the morning but realised it was on continuously day & night. The room with 2 single beds was dusty at the skirting board at the window apart from that everything else was good. The double bed was comfortable, the area was quiet & it was a perfect location for Alton towers.

The perfect stay for Alton Towers! We did 3 days in the park and this cottage was the perfect place to come back to after long days in the park. The 5 minute drive was perfect and well needed! Quick 10/15 mins from Cheadle where we stocked up on food and got fish and chips from opposite Morrisons. Really comfy beds and so many amenities in the kitchen. The cottage was spotlessly clean too. Really rate this for families wanting somewhere to chill after Alton Towers!

We loved our stay, big bonus was the well equipped kitchen with so many essentials included. A stones throw away from Alton Towers which was amazing

We had a great Easter break at Christina’s House. It’s a lovely place to stay, and is in a perfect location for the Peak District and Alton Towers. We’d definitely stay there again in the future.

We had a lovely stay at this cottage. The location is beautiful, with easy access to some great walking spots, and it’s only a short distance from Alton Towers which was perfect for our trip.

The cottage itself is cosy, clean, and warm, and had everything we needed for a comfortable few days away.

One small thing to note for future guests is that there isn’t an iron available, which we found a little inconvenient during our stay — so it might be worth bringing one if you think you’ll need it.

Overall, a really enjoyable stay and we’d happily return!

Cute little cottage, 6 minutes away from Alton Towers.

Place was perfect for a nights stay, and had everything you needed.

The Roku box didn’t work however and I did message the host but didn’t get a reply.

Also the phone signal wasn’t good when we parked up so make sure you request the code before you drive into the village. When you request the code you’re asked to either pay a £30 damage waiver or a £150 security deposit. This was the first I was informed about it so it would have been good to know this before booking. the

a beautiful cottage in a lovely peaceful village. the house itself was exactly as described. very comfortable with everything we needed. the host communicated regularly and responded well to the couple of (very minor) surgeons we had. oakamoor is an idyllic village. convenient for the beautiful countryside, and for the whole lotteries area as well as alton towers. I traveled with my elderly mum, and we had a fantastic few days away. highly recommended!

Great accommodation and location for our Alton Towers trip. Cosy house with everything we needed. Great communication from the host, always one step ahead of me with what I needed to know. Thanks

We had a wonderful stay here, beautiful home and lovely area. It’s very close to a lot of other places, like Cheadle, Uttoxeter and Stoke-On-Trent - so a lot of food shops, pubs and activities near by! The house is only a 5 minute drive from Alton Towers, so of course we had to go there too! We had a great time, and hope to be back again soon! Thank you :)

A nice cottage - some noise from neighbours. Thanks for sorting a travel cot.
5.0/5
We absolutely loved the cottage! It was spotless , biscuits on arrivals were lovely touch!
Clear instructions left by the host , you must go to Cricketers Arms lovely local pub! Also for young family’s “Master Potter “ in Cheadle very nice family friendly pub. There is no iron at the property just fyi 😊 ( unless we couldn’t fine it ).

We had such a lovely stay and loved the thoughtful gift of mince pies and the Christmas tree being switched on for our arrival - this made it feel very cosy and welcoming! The location is perfect and there are some great restaurants nearby - definitely recommend The Star at Cotton!!
Host was lovely and sent instructions in good time before arriving which was really helpful and responded to questions very quickly! Would love to stay again for a visit to Alton Towers :)

Great trip away for the weekend

Great stay. Family off 4, with a 2 year old and a 8 year old with autism and adhd. Both kids absolutley loved it. Had a fantastic week. Will definately stay again
5.0/5
I wasn’t able to stay at the property this time because a family member became ill and I had to look after them. I contacted the host to see if I could move my dates, but they weren’t able to make any changes. Just something for future guests to be aware of regarding the cancellation policy and the limited flexibility.

That said, the person I spoke to was genuinely friendly and explained everything clearly. They couldn’t alter the booking, but they did offer me a 10% discount on a future stay, which I’ll happily make use of.

Because I didn’t make it to the property this time, I can’t comment on the accommodation itself. I’ll be staying there in mid-December and will leave a full review afterwards, which I’m actually really looking forward to.

For now, all I can say is that communication was polite, even if they weren’t able to accommodate my request.

Lovely few days, great communications and clear instructions from start to finish. Perfect spot for myself and two teenagers visiting Alton Towers. Cottage was clean, cosy and peaceful. Has everything you need. Comfy beds & space to unwind. Will definitely book again.

Perfect place for dog owners - very clean and tidy without being TOO pristine when visiting with canines. Good walks nearby. Very convenient for Alton Towers, where one of our daughters is performing at 'Scarefest' (the reason for our trip, really.)Small enclosed garden for 'necessary' trip outside.
