The house was fairly basic but clean enough and generally comfortable for our needs, would ideally suit contractors or those just needing a base to sleep. Communication was good and off road parking was decent, overall for the price I paid I’d consider it Fair value

Your service is good
Positive: Bedrooms and bathroom and kitchen
Negative: Garden it’s need to more clean and arrange
1.0/10
Incredibly disappointing. Do take note of reviews and opt for somewhere else.
Positive: It was close to the parkrun.
Negative: Decor was poor as was cleanliness. Lots of stains on carpet and furniture. Overall, grubby and uncared for.
4.0/5
Nice, quiet, and affordable place to stay. Great for families or contractors. Would happily stay again.

Thank you Sam and the team, me and family enjoyed the stay. You have been all very helpful and welcoming.
1.0/5
Very bad experience overall. There was no enough toilet paper, no heating adjustment knob in rooms and Toilet got blocked after once use and left us with just 1 WC for all
8 adults. Totally disappointed

This property was perfect for what we needed. The team at travel fox were very helpful and very quick to respond if we need help or information
5.0/5
Was a lovely stay for the 1 night we needed. Peaceful location, and The Travel Fox accommodated an early check-in and was very responsive which me and my family were really appreciative of. The Living room and Master bedroom are really nice rooms too.
5.0/5
The house was as described and is a good location.

Great Airbnb overall - warm and comfortable, close to many great takeaways and shops, good enclosed garden for our dog. Would recommend

Difficult review this - Sam was spot on, but the house was shocking

I would strongly advise others to avoid this property. Unfortunately, our experience was extremely disappointing and far below an acceptable standard for the price.

When we arrived, we were greeted by an overflowing dustbin outside. Inside, the heating didn’t work properly — the thermostat was broken, and the only way to get heat was by manually pressing the boiler’s “boost” button. The washing machine was full of damp, smelly towels and clothes, and there was almost no toilet paper provided.

The general condition of the property was also poor. Several electrical sockets were cracked, the soft furnishings were stained and damaged, and the floors were dirty. It’s clear that the property has not been properly cleaned or maintained.

The stay at this property was good. My kids loved being around. Suggest to add some toys at the property for the kids. The bedroom looked as per the images shared but bit smaller than we thought. Otherwise we had good time here. The property owner was very responsive and friendly.

All good. Thank you

Lots to do 15 minutes drive away is cresswell crags which is a must. Vicars country park has a beautiful lake and views, 10 minute walk. There is also a free art gallery nearby, mine museum and Sherwood Forest.
Nottingham 40mins If more of the activities were listed we would have booked longer.
Also very convenient to have a supermarket right on your doorstep.
The accommodation was great, pet friendly and disability friendly as there is a sofa bed and toilet downstairs, walk in shower upstairs. Great to have off-street parking. Nice little touch to have lots of blankets and ceiling fan.

We had a few problems with heating and hot water but was dealt with promptly, the help instructions were clear.

The only thing the house was missing was some extra tea towels (there was only one) and vegetable peeler/sharp knife. Other than that well equipped for a holiday home. Highly recommend

great communication and clear instructions for arrival and throughout the stay. The house is very basic and kitchen not very well equipped especially if planning to prepare meals. considering the price it was a good deal but be prepared for a basic set up.
4.0/5
Warm, clean and comfortable, great new sofa beds, however the are no sharp knives so if you wanna prepare food best bring your own ... chopping peppers with a butter knife isn't easy lol
5.0/5
Place was good but had no cleaning products like wash towel hoover did not work. But house was cosy and well decorated, would stay again
5.0/5
The house is much bigger than expected and the garden really is huge! it had everything needed for any length of stay. The house could do with a little TLC and a front door matt would be useful, but nothing at all that would put me off going back. Sam and team were super kind and helpful throughout the stay checking all was well and offering any help if it was needed without being bothersome. Thank you again!

Wish we hadn't, looked for local hotels but there wasn't any close enough
Positive: Nothing it was dirty and freezing even with the heating on full and not enough glasses and mugs
Negative: It was dirty, freezing and looked nothing like the pictures

Did work out well for our family of 6
Positive: Great location if visiting Sherwood Forest.
Negative: Interior needs fresh paint and a deep carpet and furniture cleaning.
8.0/10

Beautiful, clean home amazing garden. Home from home stay
3.0/5
Bit of a landlord special inside. Stains on the walls and sofa, it smells of damp downstairs. Lock on the downstairs bathroom was also broken.
Bed sheets were clean and comfortable, bedrooms are sparse and empty.
Also the front door is incredibly hard to open for some reason? From both the inside and out.

It's fine if you need a cheap(ish) place to stay for lots of people, but only if you're just gonna sleep and leave. Host was very responsive tho, so that's nice.
3.0/5
This was a difficult review to give. The host couldn’t be faulted. Great comms and clear instructions/help.

Unfortunately, the property vastly lets him down.

Musty, unpleasant smell throughout the house. First thing we did on arrival was open all the windows to try and air the place out. Extremely old and stained sofa, holes in the walls. . .

The bathrooms have been renovated and there was a good shower. However the towels smelt unpleasant. We didn’t even make a drink or cup of tea in the house because it just wasn’t a pleasant place to be. We literally slept there and then left the next day.

Good sized garden if it was nice weather.

Great host, sadly disappointing accommodation.

Our stay was fantastic.
We enjoyed our little time together with our family.
Thank you
4.0/5
We enjoyed our stay very much, particularly the walks we were able to take along the river and through natural parkland within ten minutes walk from the property. The road was very quiet and peaceful with respectful neighbours. The kitchen was well appointed and there was plenty of space inside and at the back of the house for four adults and two dogs.
4.0/5
Good location, in close proximity to some lovely walking spots. Good, clean amenities inside with plenty of space and beds were lovely and comfortable. Host was responsive to our questions and rectified issues promptly. (Toaster wasn’t working so was replaced within a couple of days)

Positive: Dog friendly house with plenty of beds
Negative: Not enough living/dining space for the number of people it can sleep

Very responsive. Thanks for the accommodation!

Can be cleaner and a little bit unpleasant smell.

Perfect location for us to explore the surrounding area.

Great big garden, host was pretty responsive. Decent area some nice walks and some activities such as GoApe around the corner.
3.0/10
Positive: The property is in a good location with lots of take away and shops around the corner. The Sherwood’s forest we could reach in 6 minutes drive. Smart tv was a big benefit.
Negative: The pictures on the website is completely different from the reality needs lots of updates to the property. Deep cleaning needed. No glasses for wine. The area didn’t look safe as well so we kept our goods with us while we were away.

Grate place to stay

We enjoyed our time at the place. This was a family vacation to Peak District and nearby areas and we were not disappointed. There was an initial hiccup with the lock/key at the apartment, but the host was always supportive and quick to respond. To top it off, we also received a goodwill refund. Highly recommended.

Booked very last minute but everything was ready easy check in with no hassle and everything you needed was there ready 😀

We had a great stay. Our main reason for visiting was to take our grandchildren to Sherwood Forest. We took them to Go Ape which they thoroughly enjoyed and was very close by. We had a lovely meal in a nearby restaurant. Local shops nearby which was handy. The house itself was brilliant. Had everything we needed. The large garden was a bonus for the grandchildren and their sausage dog! Lots of space inside. Sam was very communicative and answered any questions quickly. Easy to locate and access. Would recommend and not hesitate to stay again if we were visiting the area. Thank you!
