We had a lovely stay , the bedrooms were lovely and spacious and we loved the big hot tub !
The only downside was the kitchen wasn’t very well equipped and the pool table was very small and not useable as it was very rickety .
Despite that we would recommend this Airbnb and its location as the town of Leek is within walking distance and a big supermarket was just down the road

Had a nice week away with the family. The house was very clean and had everything we needed. The outside could benefit from some additional seating, and we had a few issues with the hottub but overall a nice stay 🙂

The location of the house was perfect. Ideal to get to most places in Derbyshire. Bakewell, pooles cavern and Solomons temple walk all lovely. Hot tub nice addition. Leek itself is ok but worth the drive to go further afield I'd say. The house was mostly clean. Kitchen did need a scrub and it's not overly well equipped. Needs more pots and pans etc. A few accidents had been had by dogs on the rug in the kitchen. Easily resolved by replacing it. Garden needs TLC. That said the rest of the house was spotless. All minor issues. Communication was excellent. Check in easy.

Excellent all round!

We had a great time at this place. It was an ideal location for walks around the Peak District and close to shops if we needed anything last minute.
The house itself was very comfortable and clean and the hot tub was a great little addition when coming back from several long walks.
The only negative I would say is the games room. Whilst this is a great idea this was in the garage so the pool table was old and not sturdy so unable to play it and half the darts were broken. It was quite dark so would have been handy to be able to open up the garage doors to let light in but nonetheless it was a nice added extra to have incase we fancied some other form of entertainment

Overall we would def choose to stay here again and recommend to family and friends

We took 5 children and our dog to Silkwood House. Bookings are tricky for our family as we have quite particular access needs. Róisín was incredibly helpful and accommodating, the ability to switch up the beds to suit different combinations definitely wins extra hosting points from us!

The house is beautiful and the hot tub was all set up, everyone relaxed right into the stay - the Morrisons right over the street is a great bonus and everything we chose to do was less than 30 minutes away. It is also great that fans were provided given the heatwave.

The only thing I'd say is the TV is quite small and right in the corner - it made watching the world cup a bit squintier than we'd have liked 🤓⚽

We had a lovely time. Thanks again! 🙏

This was an absolutely amazing location for family fun! The house comfortably fitted our large family of 6 and two dogs. We cooked evening meals and sat around the table!

The house is beautifully decorated and exactly matches the photos.

With the car we were able to visit Alton Towers, Drayton Manor and Chester Zoo. We also highly recommend Waterworld! At night, the beautiful local town centre is a ten minute walk; we enjoyed many hours in the local beer gardens.

If you have a large group and you’re looking for this type of adventure- then you couldn’t do better than this address.

There is a Morrisons directly across the road- but with local landscaping you don’t even see it. There are plenty of opportunities for dog walks if you take your furry friend.

We celebrated a 16th and a 21st while we were there and the memories will stay with us forever.

Thank you!

We spent a week at Silkwood House and enjoyed every moment!
Extremely comfortable lounge and bedrooms, lovely quality beds and bedding and very well equipped kitchen.
Great location close to supermarket and short walk to town centre.
We went for some fabulous walks with our dog and marvelled at the scenery. It was great to come home after hiking the Peak District trails and relax in the hot tub with a glass of wine!
We also found some super pubs and restaurants all dog friendly much to Lacey’s delight!
Thank you Roisin and team. We will be back 😊

Fantastic stay with friends and 4 kids who loved the open space and the hot tub. Only 15mins away from Alton Towers and the kitchen allowed us to prepare food for the children

Lovely house decorated beautifully with great use of hot tub. Host was great and very responsive, provided recommendations of where to go and went out of her way to add additional amenities which we really appreciated, was really nice and thoughtful.

We had never been to Leek before as a location i would say it is great to be able to travel places to for example we ventured to Cheshire Oak designer village which is about an hour away and i am aware Alton Towers is about 30 mins away. There are lovely places to go and walk between 20-30 minutes away and a Morrisons at the bottom of the road!

Thank you Roisin wish you all the best with your new business venture.

We really enjoyed our week at Silkwood House. Roisin was really responsive and helpful. Any issues were resolved really quickly and the house is beautiful! The beds are so comfy and the decor is lush, I’ve even taken some inspiration home with me for my own house! It was also so nice to be able to take our fur babies too as it’s not often to find such a lovely place that allow pets! Everything you need is a short walk away, so convenient. Would definitely stay again 💛

We had a fab girlie getaway at Silkwood house! The location was absolutely perfect for what we wanted - we loved exploring the peaks during the day and coming back for a glass of bubbly in the hot tub at night! The decor is absolutely BEAUTIFUL! We also loved how convenient it was - we could pop across the road to the supermarket whenever we needed anything. The walk into Leek town was super easy - it only took 10 minutes and we loved exploring. The house had everything we needed for our group of 8 and we will definitely be coming back!

Roisin made us feel genuinely welcome and completely at home during our stay. The house is absolutely beautiful — the décor has a true boutique feel, and the beds were incredibly comfy and cosy. We loved the period features throughout (the parquet floors and fireplace are stunning), I would recommend you take slippers with the hardwood floors throughout.

The hot tub was such a lovely bonus and made our stay feel extra special.

This is a new venture for Roisin and her family, but you’d never know it - you’ll feel very well looked after in her gorgeous home. The location is brilliant too, with easy access to Leek, Alton Towers, Peak Wildlife Park and the bike trails at Waterhouses.

Thank you, Roisin 💖

We had such a great time at Silkwood House! It is as beautiful as the photos - perfect for a girly weekend and some cute insta pics too! I visited with a group of girls and we loved the convenience of the location, was exactly what we needed to wind down. We visited Alton towers, and we took a stroll into town - we particularly loved The Cock Inn where we all had a drink by an open fire after a busy day of rollercoasters! The hot tub is amazing, the house has everything you need (spotless too!), and Roisin provided a phone number for us to call if we needed anything at all! Thankfully we didn’t need it, but we appreciated that she said call any time 24-7! Already looking at rebooking as we’ve seen it’s not too far from some amazing places like Bakewell we want to explore! We will definitely be coming back - thanks Roisin!

We had a fantastic stay at Silkwood House when visiting the lovely town of Leek. The house was spotlessly clean, very spacious, and the beds were incredibly comfortable – we all slept really well.

The kitchen is well equipped with plenty of space to cook and eat together, which made it perfect for our group and really gave it that “home away from home” feeling. One of the highlights was the private outdoor hot tub, which is nicely tucked away so you can relax and unwind. The games room was also brilliant – the pool table and darts kept everyone entertained.

The location is great too, with a Morrisons supermarket nearby which made it really easy to pick up essentials. It’s also a great base for exploring Leek and the surrounding Peak District.

Overall, this is a comfortable, well-equipped place to stay and perfect for a relaxing break with family or friends. We had a wonderful time and would definitely stay again. Highly recommended!
