Loved the place. No complaints except for a house that sleeps 8, just the one bathroom is a bit problematic.
Everything else was amazing :)

Very nice stay at pear tree cottage. Was perfect amount of space for our family and ideally located for visiting Alton towers.

The property is as described and served our family well. With 2 teenage girls, 2 little ones and my partner and I. The two sofa beds were helpful and the kitchen was great.
The locality to Uttoxeter and Alton towers made it very convenient for our needs on a family holiday.
I would recommend.

Absolutely loved our short stay at this Cottage. Had everything we needed, kitchen was very well equipped . Cottage was immaculate throughout. Set in the beautiful peaceful surroundings of the countryside. Kids loved the games room pool table/darts. Alton Towers was 10 mins away. Went to the local Tavern pub/restaurant ( 5 mins away) for food which was lovely. We also had 40% of our meals with the Marsten app. Would definitely stay at Pear Tree Cottage again. Highly recommend.

We had a great stay with friends. Everything we needed and an amazing location for Alton Towers! Would recommend to others wanting to stay close by!

Lovely place to stay for a few nights to include a trip to Alton Towers. Walked to the Tavern pub for a meal. Place has everything you need foe a comfortable stay.

Positive: The house is beautiful. The beds are super comfy. Lovely quiet area.
Negative: There’s only 2 things I could complain about. The information about having to pay £1 per play on the pool table wasn’t in the information on the advert. We were only notified once the payment for the house was paid. The only reason we chose the house was for the pool table so quite disappointing. Also, the house was really hot, especially the bedrooms and we couldn’t find a fan anywhere.

Nice clean place to stay. Check in found to be frustrating, especially with limited phone signal. Comfy beds.

Really good value for money. Ideal location if you're visiting Alton Towers. Great that it's dog friendly. Beds are comfortable. Space was clean. I would highlight that there are 2 living rooms with sofa beds, one is effectively a large hallway/dining room though with the stairs in it, and you walk through it to get to the other living room (not a private space for sleeping).
Check in & communication great. Really lovely couple of days. Thank you

Great house, loved the pool table shame about price as limited to how many goes we could have. Lovely set up two double bedrooms one bigger enough for a cot, downstairs layout lovely although sofa beds smaller than expected and would be better suited to one adult.

There is a lovely pub up the road and round the corner called the tavern.

Very clean and perfect for couples or families

Beautiful cottage, clean and so incredibly comfortable (especially the bed) 😊
Fabulous location … it was perfect for us to go to the golf at JCB
Thankyou for your hospitality

Excellent overall: exactly what we needed to go to Alton Towers - thank you!

Last minute booking as the place we panned to stay at fell through. Lovely place in a very quiet area. Highly recommend

Positive: V clean, all you need for a great stay.
Responsive owners to any queries.

We stayed at Pear Tree Cottage and found it to be an excellent base for visiting the area. It's under 15 minutes from Alton Towers and close to Uttoxeter, with a large Tesco, B&M and other useful amenities nearby. Communication from the owners was good throughout. The cottage was clean, and the secure medium-sized garden was ideal for young children and pets. There is also a large patio table outside, which was perfect for enjoying meals in the good weather. In fact, we spent very little time indoors because the weather was so nice.

The only downsides were that, although advertised as sleeping up to eight people, the sofa bed between the kitchen and lounge is poor quality and really only suitable for one young child, not adults. The games room is a nice addition for families, but the room is too small for the pool table, with the cue regularly hitting the walls. Charging £1 per game feels unfair given its limited usability. Overall, we had a very enjoyable stay.

A beautiful house. Very quiet and peaceful. The surroundings were great. A very enjoyable stay.

Only thing I would say is the ‘local pubs’ are an hour walk away. There is a local 15 minutes walk away which is really nice and have lovely food and staff.

Overall lovely home and would recommend, especially for a trip to Alton towers!

We absolutely loved our two-night stay at Pear Tree Cottage and couldn’t have been happier with it. We stayed there while visiting Alton Towers with four adults and three children, and it was perfect from start to finish.

Before arriving, helpful YouTube videos were sent showing us how to find the cottage and use the check-in system, which made everything really easy. The cottage was spotless, peaceful, cosy, and felt like a real home from home. It had everything we needed including a washing machine, tumble dryer, dishwasher, coffee machine, air fryer, and TVs throughout the cottage.

The hosts were amazing and always quick to respond to any questions. We also loved the thoughtful touches like fresh towels and biscuits left on the beds when we arrived.

We genuinely had such a lovely stay and would 100% stay here again.

Thank you so much

Lovely, quiet location. exactly what we wanted.

Host was responsive and helpful. Cottage was clean and well equipped including consumables such as washing up liquid, dishwasher tablets, liquid soap, loo roll etc. The WiFi worked well throughout the property. The pool table (£1 per play, via coin(s)) and darts (free) in the outhouse kept the teenagers happy. The 7kW EV charger worked seamlessly - just plugged in and left it overnight. There are two double bedrooms on first floor. The two sitting rooms on ground floor each have a double sofa bed. One of the sitting rooms is less private than the other as access to the other sitting room and the staircase are via this room. The ground floor has several single steps eg from kitchen one step down into utility and then one step up into the bathroom - which has a large shower, sink, loo & heated towel rail. Location: about 150yds down a single lane road, 10-15 mins by car to Alton Towers.

The house is lovely, we originally planned for 8 of us to stay but that would have been a super squeeze with only one bathroom/ toilet and kitchen was smaller than photos looked. It was a clean house and modern, perfect location for Alton Towers. Kitchen is fully equipped and we appreciated that. Beds were comfy but sofa bed was said to be lumpy. We actually booked for the advertised games room but this was a real disappointment. Paying £1 per play- the pool cues are broken, the table has holes/ needs maintenance and there is insufficient space to play pool properly. And then you pay £1. So if booking purely for the appeal of games room, I wouldn’t. Still, the property was lovely otherwise!

Overall, this Airbnb was good value for money and located in a nice area. The place itself was comfortable and suited our needs well during the stay.

The only issue I had was with checkout. The owner arrived at 10:03am to make sure we had left, and it felt uncomfortable having him waiting there while we were still packing up. We were only a few minutes late due to disability-related delays, which can slow things down a little. A bit more understanding and flexibility at checkout would have made the experience much better.

Stayed with a group of six at the Pear Tree Cottage. Lovely place right next to a farm and surrounded by beautiful countrysides. The home was filled with the basic amenities and sleeping arrangements were comfortable.
The hosts were very communicative and friendly, and surrounding neighbours and other residents are very polite and friendly.
There isn’t much around the place as you need to travel a bit to find a shop etc but there is a beautiful pond and lake situated a couple minutes walk from the place.
Would definitely recommend and stay again.

Peaceful stay in a lovely private setting.
Very well priced and worth the cost.
Couch sofa beds were excellent for our large family staying. We had everything we needed in the house, and the kitchen was very well equipped! We will definitely try to book again on our next trip!

We had a great couple of nights here. The surroundings were beautiful, being by the farm is such a delight with only the animal sounds to hear.
We have two teenage sons and they spent a lot of the evening in the games room, they loved the darts and the pool table.
The house is spacious yet cosy, the kitchen fully equipped to make dinner for two nights. The beds are so comfortable, and waking up to the views of green all around are so good for the soul (we're from London so don't have that luxury).
We will definitely return, used the accommodation as a base for our Alton Towers trip but would stay an extra night or two just for the peace and tranquility. 5 stars from all of us, thank you!

Positive: The house was easy to book, clean, well equipped and excellently located.

We spent two nights at Pear Tree Cottage while visiting the area for a trip to Alton Towers. The cottage is lovely and clean, spacious and perfectly situated for access to the theme park. The facilities great and the cottage was sparkling clean. I particularly appreciated the helpful videos on "how to get here" and "how to use the shower" etc. sent ahead of our stay, a nice touch!

Whilst there, we had clear and responsive communication from the host whenever required, honestly, great service!

We had a lovely few days at Pear Tree Cottage. The property was in a nice, peaceful area with great pubs and restaurants nearby. Ideally situated for Alton Towers and can comfortably sleep two small families. The property was very well maintained and finished to a high standard with a television in every room and a pool table and dart board for entertainment. It was also very reasonably priced. The accommodation was pristine and the host was very responsive. Would highly recommend to anyone visiting the area. Thank you for a great stay.

For 2 adults, 2 teenagers and a dog the accommodation was lovely. Plenty of rooms for the teenagers to have their own space with TVs in each one!
Secure garden for the dog and private for sitting out.
Ideal base to visit Alton Towers and other attractions.
We will definitely be back.

Positive: Really comfortable, spacious, nice modern kitchen and shower, god shower, large drive with gate felt secure.

Pool table and darts a bonus

Comfortable beds and was lovey and warm property.

Booked here for two employees, it was good for what they needed. However we did have a problem with hot water for a couple of nights, i was worried i wouldn't get it sorted as you cant contact the owner direct but after waiting for a phone call back, the agent contacted the owner who then went round and sorted a plumber to fix the problem. Hopefully it was just fault and doesn't happen for others.

Beautiful cottage in a peaceful setting. Lovely and private. Top quality furnishings & decor. Exceptionally clean. The place had everything you need for a stay away. The kitchen had high quality utensils & facilities. Shower room was very spacious. We enjoyed having a TV in every room too! Definitely worth every penny.
The hosts were responsive and very helpful. We will certainly be staying here again! Thank you!

Spent half term week with four 17 to 21 year old children. The cottage was perfect. Clean and tidy. Lisa the owner was magnificent and checked to ensure we had enough wood for the burner which was used and so so cosy. The location is great for the Peak District which we had some great walks. The local town has all you need including a cinema for a night out. Highly recommend and would 100% stay again.
Thank you.

Lovely stay and really easy access to the house itself very informative and communicative in regards to the house itself !! The pool table was a major seller for us as it was a unique feature although the space surrounding it could have been a little bigger so the pool cue could fit its full length , this wasn’t a massive issue, just as a heads up for anyone curious about the spacing The price for what we got was incredible :) thank you so much for our lovely weekend we hope to come back again
Thank you

Had a lovely stay here for the night with a few friends, great touch to have a pool table and darts we loved playing! We did notice dust around but nothing too bad and the downstairs television controllers had run out of battery so could not use 2 out of 3. This is a beautiful home in a nice and quiet area which we love! Should definitely stay here again!

Lovely air bnb, stayed with a group for New Year's Eve. It had everything we needed. The only thing I would change is the comfort of the sofa beds, but for 1 night it was no issue. The place was spacious and very clean.

What a lovely cottage! plenty of room for 4 adults, especially with 2 lounges.
Very clean and tidy and easy to use range cooker.
We had an amazing 10 days over Christmas, the welcome gifts were appreciated and so we're the seasonal decorations. It's worth noting the toilet is downstairs and being an older cottage the stairs are a little steeper than a modern home but this didn't cause us any issues :) and the shower was lovely and hot.
The pool room was a fantastic extra and many a game was played and we appreciated the owners putting a heater in there for us.
We really did have a lovely time and will not hesitate to book again.
Thank you to Sam and the team for their excellent communication throughout - Happy New Year
