The good: nice house, clean, good location to several historical and modern-day tourist sites. Close to a Tesco so you can get what you need for your stay.

The bad: bedbugs. The host got in touch with us very quickly and allowed us an immediate checkout and a full refund, I'm positive that he took care of the infestation. The heat... The upstairs bedroom window did not open so we were stuck in 28.5° heat all night. They did give us a washing machine, but there was no place to dry the clothes. No dryer, no clothesline, no drying rack.

A Lovely Little Stay
Positive: A pleasant little 2-up, 2-down with everything you need for a quiet stay, and nicely convenient for Alton Towers.
Negative: The only negative thing was that turning on the hob tripped the electrics.
5.0/5
Exactly as described, hosts were extremely helpful if we had any questions. Property was clean and comfortable for our trip to Alton Towers. Would book again.

Checked out earlier today, checking in was extremely easy with on street parking. Host was responsive and we only needed to tidy and return keys back when checking out. Lovely location, place was very clean and beds were really comfortable! Would definitely book again

It was a quiet stay
Positive: Location, bathroom
Negative: Cleanliness and could do with some updating
8.0/10
All in all a perfect little base for our travels.
Positive: The location was perfect for our needs. It was comfortable and cosy and had everything we needed for our stay. We got a great night's sleep ready for our day out in the morning.
Negative: For me, personally, the stairs were quite steep which I couldn't really tell from the photos. This would not be an issue if my knees were 20 years younger but something to bear in mind if you also struggle with mobility.
6.0/10
Positive: Able to rest from a long journey.
Negative: Front entrance over grown ...only 1 room 2 single beds.

Great location for Alton Towers, at only a ten minute drive away. The cottage is compact, but suited our needs, and our hosts were very communicative. Would recommend if you want a base for a visit to The Towers.

Negative: No blind in the bathroom. Makes me personally feel uncomfortable.

We are visitors from the US. Our destination was Alton Towers, and as our first time in Europe it felt overwhelming not knowing what to expect, as far as distance, conditions of the home etc. This place felt more than comfortable, it felt like home away from home. The host is great and quickly at responding to any inquiries that we had. Close/walking distance to a local store. Parking was not an issue at all and it felt really peaceful after a full day at the Theme Park, which is relatively close. (13 mins) We already know next time we are in the area this is where we would be staying again!

The hosts were lovely and very clear with any instructions. Lovely Airbnb and perfectly located. Would definitely stay again!

Great place and great location.
Our family of 5 enjoyed our short break to head to Alton towers and couldn’t get a better location.

Some small negatives
Property is dated and tired in places. Broken drawers and other minor things could do with some tlc. But wouldn’t take much to transform
5.0/5
Very close to Alton Towers, under 15 minutes drive. Also only 10 minutes to the large Tesco in Uttoxeter. The place had everything we needed and I managed to find a place to park nearby every day we were there. A great place for a 4-day trip to Alton Towers for a family with kids.

What a cracking wee find, really close to Alton Towers. Well priced, GREAT bed, fantastic shower. Absolutely spot on for what you need after a long day.
Communication was spot on and when I asked what mattress they had, they found out and told me haha. Absolutely class! WILL be back :)

Great Airbnb, cosy cute house in a nice area. The bed was comfy which is important to me! Host was friendly and helpful with his messages, and the house had everything I needed to have a home from home. I believe the host has several airbnbs and this was just my kind of place as you feel you have your own independence, you're not someone's annex or a guest house! Only drawback is the street is a little noisy in the mornings as there's a school nearby and some of the drivers honk/you hear loud engines. Also host messaged asking if I'd leave a five star review which I am not sure is the best practice. Best to let guests decide what they want to say. All in all though, this was a great value Airbnb and was a good base for me to explore the Peak District.

Positive: The accommodation was comfortable and clean
Negative: We still had to spend quite a lot of money getting taxis to and from Alton Towers. But that's on us. We chose the place. It was close to the park all in all.

Lovely stay here, perfect for Alton towers. The only bad thing is that the sofa beds aren't comfy to sleep on which is a shame. Everything else was spot on.
