Great place to stay local to amenities ie Alton Towers, local pub. Lovely cottage.

We stayed in the Alpaca cottage and were very happy with it. Our kids loved the farm, the playground, and the animals that were there. It’s very near Alton Towers, less than a 10 minute drive. The cottage was really clean.

Loved every minute of our stay. Our children loved it. Great location. Will definitely book again

An idyllic place to stay. The place was charming, set in a beautiful location. House was super clean and perfect for us as a family of 6 (infant in travel cot provided) as a stop close to Download. We all had a break from technology and the children had the best time playing on the playframes, playing with the campsite children and looking at the animals. 100% would recommend and if we’re in that area again we wouldn’t hesitate to come back! Thank you very much for the wonderful stay.

Overall, I had a pleasant stay. The property was in a great location, very close to my destination near Alton Towers. It
Positive: What I liked most about the property was its excellent location, as it was very close to my destination near Alton Towers. The cottage was peaceful, quiet, and very clean, which made my stay comfortable and enjoyable.
Negative: The main thing I didn’t like about the property was the shower, as it was quite small and the water pressure was slow. The upstairs bedrooms have low and narrow ceiling areas, so you need to be careful not to bump your head. I also found the staircase very steep, which made me feel a little uncomfortable and less confident when going up and down.

Our stay at this cottage on the farm was lovely, we were greeted by the owner who let us in. The cottage was great and had everything in you could need for a self-catering property, the gardens and surroundings were so peaceful and we had a great time feeding the alpacas, would definitely return!

Amazing place to stay. As soon as we arrived the host met us straight away to show us around the house. The house is in very good condition, the host mentioned they had provided additional heaters as the heating wasn’t working but we didn’t need them. The place has lots of storage space for clothes. The kitchen has everything you need to cook meals including a dishwasher.

Highly recommend staying here:

The cottage and grounds were lovely and had everything we needed. The owners had thought of lots of useful details like cooking oil and utensils. Although small it was perfect for our short stay and the bed layout was perfect for our family of 5.

I’m ok dealing with travel fox , they were professional in dealing with clients.
We love the surrounding and neighbourhood. It’s so peaceful and quiet.

However, we had bad experiences with the owner. We arrived late and mistakenly check out 45 minutes late. The cleaner and farm owner make a big fuss of it .

Be careful with very Late check in and very early check out .The farm owner can’t be considerate , emotional and don’t have patience. He’s not friendly at all since the day we check in. He chased us (in the car) for things that I left behind .. and scolded me until I agreed to pay extra 40 pound for the cleaner.

The place can only occupied for maximum 3 adults . We had trouble walking with 5 adults and 5 luggages around the house and the only toilet is located downstair.

Will definitely not coming back to this home stay. The farm owner needs to be more considerate and negotiable as he’s dealing with a diverse customer from around the world.

Came down from Scotland to visit Alton Towers, whilst staying at Lower Micklin Farm Cottages. We had a great weekend and will look to recommend to friends.
The location was perfect for a short drive to Alton Towers and also to Alton Village for an evening meal and drinks at the Talbot Inn.

Positive: Close to the Theme Park and peaceful
Negative: Floorboards very creaky!

A nice stay for families wanting quick access to Alton towers
Positive: The staff were absolutely lovely and friendly. The small park was great for kids and easy for them to access
Negative: The cleanliness downstairs could be improved as some areas weren’t very clean such as the kettle which was filled with limescale, the dust and spider webs behind the tv ,behind the bathroom sink and the bits of mess that came from under the couches. The upstairs was lovely and very clean

Fantastic accommodation for a young family
Positive: We loved the house and the hosts were friendly and helpful.

Excellent location for scenic views and peaceful setting. Perfect for weekend stay for under 10 min
transit to Alton Towers. Local towns 15 mins away Uttoxeter or Cheadle. Excellent Thai restaurant in Alton 5 min drive. Animals on site really entertained the children and plenty of space for ball games. Perfect stay for what we needed with an onsite manager who was more than accommodating. EV charger available.

great little cottage. amazing views and a 5 minute drive to Alton towers
10.0/10
Positive: Close to Alton towers where we were visiting. Lovely clean cottage. Outside space was beautiful with flower pots, hanging baskets and benches to sit on.
Negative: Stairs were noisy. Some sachets of mayonnaise and ketchup would have been handy as well as small bottles of shampoo etc as I forgot mine. Toilet roll holder was located in an awkward place.
5.0/5
Lovely , well equipped cottage - suited our family of five.( including 6 year old and toddler) . When we arrived they kindly installed a stair gate. Children adored play area and animals - especially Oscar the dog and the guinea pigs. There is lots of running around space. Enjoyed our trips out to the Churnet Railway and Ilam. An enjoyable five days

Alpacas always a win. Parking was easy, cottage was great. Worked well to have breakfast and dinner while staying out during the day.
8.0/10
Positive: Beautiful surroundings. Fun walk over the fields and back to go to local pub and newsagents. My children lived the Alpacas and Oscar the dog.

Location to alton towers was fab.

Inside the cottage had everything you need, including cleaning products, tea, coffee, and even salt and pepper.
Negative: My only suggestion is that the quilt on the double bed needs to be a king size, it was too small for hubby and I.

I would say it's just a little dated too. All clean and functional, and the outside space was beautiful, just needs a little uplift for the price.

Positive: Lovely, clean and relaxing.

All amenities you could need for a self catering space and there are some nice pubs to eat in Alton which were listed for us before we arrived. Would definitely recommend.
